Recruiter
Mahoney Environmental Solutions, LLC. is looking for a Recruiter to join our team. This is a remote position. The Recruiter is responsible for creating strategic staffing approaches to attract a wide pool of qualified talent for the organization. The Recruiter owns full-cycle hiring for field, operations and professional roles across Mahoney's nationwide locations. The largest share of requisitions will be CDL drivers, and plant staff, so speed, persistence and a strong candidate pipeline matter most. The Recruiter partners closely with operations and department managers to fill openings with safe, reliable people who fit Mahoney's service-first culture.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, experienced negotiating strategies and excellent organizational abilities. He/she should be familiar with developing recruitment marketing strategies that effectively attract and retain top talent.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for an assigned requisition load: intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offers and handoff to onboarding.
- Hold intake meetings with hiring managers to define role requirements, pay ranges, schedules and selection criteria.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, the applicant tracking system (ATS), referrals, driving schools, veteran programs, workforce agencies and local job fairs.
- Screen applicants against role requirements, including CDL class and endorsements, driving record (MVR) and DOT eligibility for driver positions.
- Write and post job ads that clearly describe the work, pay, schedule and benefits.
- Coordinate pre-employment steps: background checks, DOT drug screens, physicals and MVR reviews, in line with company policy and FMCSA rules.
- Extend verbal and written offers within approved ranges and manage candidate communication to orientation.
- Keep ATS records accurate and complete, and report weekly on pipeline, time-to-fill and source effectiveness.
- Build a pool of pre-qualified candidates for high-turnover and hard-to-fill roles.
- Represent Mahoney at career fairs and community events, and help build the employer brand.
- Follow all federal, state and local employment laws, including EEO, FCRA and pay transparency requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably high-volume, driver or hourly hiring.
- Proactive sourcing tactics and substantial initiative.
- Excellent time management abilities and proven abilities to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of an ATS and sourcing tools such as Indeed and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Strong communication, organization and follow-through with a high volume of open roles.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience recruiting CDL drivers, technicians or skilled trades in transportation, logistics, waste or environmental services.
- Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA hiring requirements.
- Multi-state or multi-site recruiting experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Most work is performed in an office or home-office setting using a computer and phone for extended periods.
Occasional visits to depots, plants and job fairs may involve walking, standing and exposure to industrial settings.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
