We are looking for a production technician to join our team in Beltsville. Necessary duties for the role include overseeing the plant and processing aspects of the business, including maintaining the plant, property and equipment to reflect a positive professional Image, as well as maintaining all fleet preventative maintenance and light mechanical work. This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and weekends as required.

Schedule:  Monday through Friday flexible start time between 5:30am/6:00am

Starting pay range: $24 - $24.75

Primary Job Duties:

  • Cover labor shortages in all entry and general level tasks.
  • Inspect, sample, test, and unload incoming materials.
  • Test and pump finished grease from settling tank to storage.
  • Heat, stir, blend, burp finished tanks for load outs.
  • Inspect, load, stabilize, sample, and test outbound tankers.
  • Monitor equipment for maintenance issues, report to shift supervisor.
  • Keep floors and equipment in designated areas clean and orderly.
  • Complete all assigned work as requested by supervisor.
  • Follow all safety/OSHA rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.


Requirements:

  • Operate various industrial equipment (i.e. hoses, valves, pumps, rote-strainers, conveyors/screws, etc.).
  • Climb ladders and stairs.
  • Read and record measurements, temperature, and time.
  • Proficient in basic math and lab skills.
  • Any other skills required by all entry, general, and skilled level positions.
  • Dependable and punctual, positive attitude, detail oriented, takes pride in work quantity and quality, adaptable, self-starter.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 100lbs.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, kneel, climb ladders and squat for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 35 feet, in confined spaces, and in adverse temperatures and weather conditions.

Working Conditions:  

  • Work outdoors in different weather conditions.
  • Exposure to used cooking oil odors.
  • Handling grease coated equipment.
